The DAC is a new R2R design, based on HiFiMAN's beloved HIMALAYA R2R, providing a similar level of reference sound.
Like its big brother's in HiFiMAN's lineup, EF499 provides High and Low Gain options for the amplifier output, along with Oversampling or Non-oversampling (NOS) DAC processing options to let you find the sound that's best for you.
DESKTOP VERSATILITY
For the standard DAC, you can connect via USB-A, USB-C, or digital coax, providing compatibility with a number of devices. Similarly, you can output to RCA or XLR, meaning EF499 can work with an external headphone amp or power amp.
